Inspiring Children

At Nanny Plums Nursery children are inspired to discover the world around them. As well as learning through a varied and enriching curriculum which differentiates for individual children’s needs and preferred learning styles, children also benefit from many extra experiences which inspire awe and wonder of the world:

  • Regular trips to the woods, duck ponds, the library, local shops and markets as well as the beach where children enjoy learning about our local habitats and often do their bit as good citizens by collecting plastic waste for recycling etc.

  • Regular visits to a local senior residential care home to sing and read with elderly residents (our little ones love doing this).

  • Learn Spanish with our teacher from Bilinguasing through fun games, songs and activities which support our curriculum.

  • Take part in mindful yoga sessions with our trained staff.

  • Sing, dance and shake it out with Katherine our Music, Movement and Dance teacher.

  • Create culinary delights with our talented each week where children learn to slice, chop and peel fresh foods to make delicious dishes which they then enjoy eating.

  • Feel inspired by regular guests from the community including people who help us like the police, firefighters, doctors, vets and nurses; children really engage with these question and answer sessions.

  • Participate in regular fundraising events for charities such as Childhood Cancer Trust, Macmillan, Children in Need and Comic Relief which raise awareness of some of the difficulties faced by other people.

  • Learn about other cultures and traditions  and learn to celebrate our differences and similarities as communities, families and individuals.
